About Mr Joe Piano
Meet Mr Joe, your Rochester piano teacher.
Joe has taught piano for more than 15 years and performed music for more than 30. Through Mr. Joe Piano, founded in October 2021, he teaches kids, teens, and adults in the Rochester area, with a focus on private lessons in the student's home.
How lessons work
Clear steps, with room for the music you enjoy.
Beginners can start with keyboard patterns, rhythm, note reading, and short songs. As students grow, lessons can also include technique, chords, theory, improvisation, and music they want to play.
Joe adjusts the pace to the student. Children get small, manageable steps; adult beginners and returning players can bring their own goals and questions. In-home lessons let students learn on the instrument they use to practice.
First meeting
See whether lessons are a good fit.
The free meet-and-greet is a chance to discuss the student's experience, goals, instrument, location, and schedule. If it feels like a fit, Joe can discuss a weekly lesson time. New students start at $40 per 30-minute lesson; in-home openings depend on the teaching route and travel time.

Music experience beyond lessons
Joe has performed, recorded, written music, and toured across the United States. He toured with LP Outsiders (LPO), including appearances connected with The Disney Channel's "2 Hour Tour" and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. That performance background informs his teaching, while each lesson stays focused on the student's next step at the piano.
